Mathieu Debuchy seen at Newcastle

Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that the club is close to signing defender Mathieu Debuchy from Lille. The Magpies have been linked with the 27-year-old French international right-back since the summer, following his performances at Euro 2012. Debuchy was in the stands at St James' Park for Wednesday night's 2-1 defeat at home to Everton, ahead of a medical on Thursday.
