Freddie Ljungberg agrees short-term deal with Celtic

Former Arsenal forward Freddie Ljungberg has passed a medical and agreed a deal with Celtic until the end of the season. The Swedish midfielder is now in line to make his début at Ibrox in Sunday's Old Firm Derby against Rangers. The 33-year-old has been training with Celtic and boss Neil Lennon said: "He's done very well in the two days we've seen him. I've been very impressed. I've seen more than enough to know he would be a good addition."  I'm sure.

Unanimous points victory for Khan

Amir Khan defended his WBA light-welterweight title with a unanimous points victory over Marcos Maidana in a thrilling fight in Las Vegas. The Bolton fighter had his opponent down in the first with a brutal body shot after being rocked himself with two huge hooks from the Argentine. Khan looked to have the fight under control but was wobbled in the 10th and was lucky to survive the round. The three judges ringside scored the fight 114-111, 114-111, 113-112.
